A Day in San Jose...
Last year I shot Kimberly & Susan's wedding in Fresno. This year they flew me out to San Jose to shoot Kimberly's grandmother's surprise 86th birthday party. It was absolutely phenomenal! The look on her grandmother's face when she walked in was priceless. She started crying a few minutes after absorbing everything. It was quite touching. I was honored to be there for such a special event. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Fashion v Sport
This week sees the opening of a new exhibition at the V & A Museum in London exploring the creative connections between Fashion and Sport. Forget dodgy shell suits and neon lycra, these days sportswear is seriously cool. Inspired by popular culture and street style, many designers have taken to incorporating sportswear into their ranges. The exhibition features many different designers, while Italian brand Fila celebrates 35 years with never-before-seen styles from its archives and exclusives designed for Bjorn Borg in the Seventies. The final section of the exhibition explores the quirky world of sportswear obsessive's – including the Japanese designer who creates 2 outfits each year for his virtual football team!!! For full details of the new exhibit visit the Victoria and Albert website at http://www.vam.ac.uk/ For full details of just why Fila is celebrating 35 years in the industry check out the Fashicon website at www.fashicon.co.uk to see the very latest designs from... News: Joe Claims R. Kelly Held His Career Back
He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but R&B artist Joe felt something wasn't quite right with his situation at Jive Records. So after 11 years on the label and six albums, the singer decided earlier this year to bounce and give the independent route a try. It wasn't until after he left the label that Joe says he found out what was behind his perceived stalled progress. He says his own label mate, R. Kelly, put pressure on Jive execs and radio stations to fall back on promoting his records when the singles appeared to be getting too much attention. "R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio," Joe told EUR's Lee Bailey Tuesday. "He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, 'Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.' And they would oblige." Joe says there were a lot of shady things that went down at Jive and he's... (more)

more cat pictures SERIOUSLY, THOUGH, WITH GAS PRICES THE WAY THEY ARE, PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO REALISE THAT THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES TO DRIVING as make more sensible use of fuels all alone. Like bus travel. And Amtrak, which is no doubt seeing capacity issues on a number of trains--not the least of which is the Empire Builder, currently the only train through Winona as serves Chicago, Milwaukee, the Twin Cities, Glacier National Park, Seattle and Portland. Even then, CHI-MKE-MSP traffic thereon is being stretched to the point where calls have been made by online communities to add another train as would operate only to the Twin Cities. Best solution I can think of: Take one of the existing Hiawatha Service trains between Chicago and Milwaukee and extend same to the Twin Cities, with provision for a café car as would serve sandwiches, light meals and snacks along with the existing coach accomodation. Otherwise, what stands in the way of breaking our bond-slavery to automotive... (more)
